Base64String

Syntax

Base64String(<Value>)

Parameters

<Value> (required)

Type: BinaryData. Binary data that are to be encoded using a base64 algorithm.

Returned value

Type: String.

Description

Gets a Base64 (MIME) encoded string. The encoding result is a text split into lines of 64 characters. A combination of CR+LF characters is used as a line separator.

Thin client, web-client, mobile client, server, thick client, external connection, mobile application (client), mobile application (server), mobile standalone server.

Note

Base64 decoders conforming to RFC 2045 and RFC 4648 correctly ignore the CR+LF line separators. However, if the base64 string is used in a context where line breaks are not allowed (for example, with HTTP Basic authentication), the CR and LF characters must be removed from the result.
